Britney New Album Won't Just Be 'Work Bitch'

Britney Spears is taking her own advice: You want a hit album? You better work, bitch.
Just like she says in her smash single, Brit is working overtime to finish the follow-up to Femme Fatale, and as manager Larry Rudolph explained to MTV News, she's entering the home stretch ... and determined to have the album out by December.
"We're getting close to being finished, we're probably three or four songs away," Rudolph said. "We did a listening session the other day, just to take stock of everything we have, and it's just one song after the other, it's amazing, it's really good. I know she can't wait for her fans to hear it, too."
Earlier this year, frequent collaborator will.i.am said that he's challenging Spears to get deep on the new album — "We need to talk about what she's excited about in life. We gotta talk about the things that hurt her," he told Rolling Stone. "We can't do another song about going on the dance floor." — and, from the sound of things, she rose to the occasion. To hear Rudolph explain it, Britney's new music takes her to places she's never been before, and the result is nothing sort of a dramatic reinvention.
"The album definitely is not just 'Work Bitch.' This is a situation where there are multiple, multiple layers, things like you've never heard from her before," he said. "There's a lot that fans expect, but a lot that they don't ... She's written on every song on the album, which is a first for her, and it's a very personal album for her, and I think people are going to love it."

AOL named Till The World Ends the best song of the year!!!

1. 'Till the World Ends,' Britney Spears
After a year of uprisings, occupations and riots, no song quite captured 2011's end-of-days vibe like Brit's biggest, boldest epic yet. Sure, the charts have been filled with similar electro bangers since Britney herself ushered in pop's rave-ival during her 'Blackout' days, but 'Til The World Ends' outshines 'em with the sinister euphoria of an exploding sun. And yes, it was better than the remix. -- Joshua Ostroff

2. 'Someone Like You,' Adele

3. 'Party Rock Anthem,' LMFAO

4. 'Call Your Girlfriend,' Robyn

5. 'The Edge of Glory,' Lady Gaga

6. 'Super Bass,' Nicki Minaj

7. 'Mr. Know It All,' Kelly Clarkson

8. 'Hello Feat. Dragonette,' Martin Solveig

9. 'Love You Like a Love Song,' Selena Gomez

10. 'We Found Love,' Rihanna

11. 'Stereo Hearts,' Gym Class Heroes

12. 'Price Tag,' Jessie J

13. 'Never Say Never,' Justin Bieber

14. 'Give Me Everything,' Pitbull

15. 'Best Thing I Never Had,' Beyoncé

16. 'Pumped Up Kicks,' Foster the People

17. 'Blow,' Ke$ha

18. 'Take Care Feat. Rhianna,' Drake

19. 'Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F),' Katy Perry

20. 'Without You' David Guetta Feat. Usher

21. 'This City,' Patrick Stump

The entire production will run 8 minutes, and will open the show. The introductory video will be eerie, and will feature a home video of a six year old Britney Spears playing with Barbies. This will lead into Selena Gomez singing "…Baby" in a signature school girl outfit. Followed by Miley Cyrus, whispering "…I know I may be young…" with a snake draped around her neck. Then, Demi Lovato enters rises from the center of the stage with a sequined costume on. As Demi’s song ends, all girls strut to left stage, put on Mickey Mouse ears and sing "3″ in a manner that will surely have people talking the next day. (Hint..Hint…think 2003) As their shocking performance ends, lights fade up on Katy Perry who is soon joined by Rihanna in singing "Hold It Against Me". As their song ends, Nicki Minaj comes from the back of the audience wearing a ringleader outfit and singing her "World Ends" verse. As she finishes, all eyes shift to Britney who performs her song with Sabi. (Details of this will be available later) Before Video of the Year is presented, there will be a video monage of Britney videos with excerpts of stars thanking Britney for her contributions to music including: Miley Cyrus (confirmed), Lady Gaga (confirmed), Justin Timberlake (unconfirmed), Selena Gomez (confirmed), Joe Jonas (confirmed), Will.I.Am (unconfirmed), and Christina Aguilera (unconfirmed). As the video ends, Madonna enters the stage, makes a brief statement and presents Britney the Lifetime Achievement Award."

Selena Gomez talks about wiphlash

MTV News caught up with the Disney star on Friday and we asked her about “Whiplash,” the uptempo Spears dance tune. Gomez, who is a die-hard Britney fan, said she was excited to have the opportunity to collaborate with one of her idols.

“It’s awesome,” Gomez said of the leaked track. “It was an honor and I’m completely stoked.”

But when she was initially given “Whiplash,” a track that reportedly failed to make Spears’ Circus album, the “Wizards of Waverly Place” actress was unaware that Spears had helped to write the song. “I just heard the song; I fell in love with it,” Gomez said. “They gave it to me, the producers who worked on it, and I came and sang and saw that she had co-written it, so I was very excited.”

Listen to “Whisplash”.

NY Post review whiplash: Britney gives Selena her best song to date

NEW YORK POST REVIEW:
Britney Spears has come a long way since writing “Dear Diary” (off her second CD). In the 11 years since, Britney’s not only penned more than a dozen songs, but co-wrote almost everything on her (in my opinion) best dance album to date: 2007′s “Blackout.”
And while there is nary a Spears-scripted song to be found on her latest effort, “Femme Fatale,” fans of Brit tracks are in luck because it turns out that Selena Gomez’s uber-infectious “Whiplash” was written by Miss Brit!
What I can’t figure out is why in the world would she give up this hot track — it’s better than at least five songs that made the “Femme” final mix. Either way, it’s out there now and gives Selena back-to-back hits thanks to “Bang Bang Bang.”
